• Rock & Roll Dreams DO Come True!

Posted in Blog by Brooke Trout

We are producing our full length debut album at Fourth Street Recording studios! You can make our rock and roll dream come true!

We have until October 15th to raise $1000 to produce our full length album to be released in the Spring of 2012! Hey, thanks to all of you we beat Miley Cyrus earlier this year on the Eventful.com top artist listings. We were ranked 3 out of 75 bands with over 600 votes! We can do it again!

You can pledge for as little as a dollar to get a copy of our new single “The Well” or you can pony up for a Karaoke Party with our band in Little Tokyo, a hand painted drawing of The Red Herring fish by Vincent Perea, a harmonica class with Big Dave Perea or even a trip to the LA Zoo! We have a lot of goodies available. If we don’t reach our goal all pledges are considered null and void.  Please help support our efforts; check out our video updates and see more about our awesome offerings here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/65430257/the-red-herring-debut-release.

Special thanks to Women’s Radio Music Review, NetteRadio Daily Edition and Generatorarts.com for helping us spread the word about our new EP featuring the engineering mastery of Dan Hughley of Crazyville Productions. We also wanted to give a shout out to Trent over at Brooke’s favorite financial blog The Simple Dollar! If it weren’t for Trent’s weekly roundup “Little Changes” we never would have won the Docker’s Man Grant contest that got us the funds we needed to get our EP produced! The four tracks on the EP include “Albert II” – about the first monkey to successfully orbit the Earth only to crash land. “The Well” is like a Pink Floyd sundae with ZZ topping; a blues rock duet with Big Dave and Brooke Trout. The other tracks include the raucous “Mad Tea Party” which is already being compared to songs by Hole, and “Instigate” which got us our first review:

“On the song ‘Instigate’ Brooke’s vocals remind me of Su Tissue from the Suburban Lawns on their songs ‘Janitor’ and ‘Gidget Goes To Hell’! ‘The Well’ is a real gem; it deserves radio play. Dave’s and Brooke’s voices balance each other so well and, really, only when both are singing does the band’s full personality come through. Best $4 I ever spent–for reals, dudes!” – Manuel P.

Once we complete our fundraising campaign we are going in to start the production of our full album at the world famous studio Fourth Street Recording. We are super excited to announce we’ll be working with the incredible team of Sejo Navajas (Cold Blue Rebels, The People’s Party), and Denise Barbarita (The Roots, Stevie Wonder).

    UPCOMING EVENTS:

We’ll be in the studio until the album is complete, but we do have a few save the dates we’re really excited to announce!
